If anyone knew what was going on, it was Hunter. I blame George Bush for his suicide in 2005. Hunter was the quintessential example of what it means to be a true American patriot - fighting for our real values, those warped ideas of “freedom” and “truth”, while questioning our leaders and the society we have created. He made sense of 9/11 on 9/12/01, and foresaw all that would happen, all that has happened, in the years following it.
If there is anything America needs, it is another Hunter - or thousands, millions like him, who are willing to stand up and question all the endless bullshit that is piled upon Americans, question the people who would have us turn against each other and kill thousands and thousands who are “not like us”. We can’t regress as a country - we can only move forward.
I mourn Hunter today, in addition to the thousands who died in the 9/11 attacks, and the hundreds of thousands who have died since in Iraq and Afghanistan. I mourn the voice that called for honesty, decency, and real truth. We are Doomed, as Hunter would say, if the youth of today do not stand up for those same ideas.
